Three Generations
I was so lucky on Tuesday to have lunch with my Mom and my Grandma Archuleta. We went to a sandwich shop near Chapman called Grinders, and the owner was amazed that he had three generations eating at his restaurant. I loved being able to see my Mom and Grandma, it made me realize what I am missing being away from home. I am so fortunate to have grown up living in the same town with both sets of my grandparents. And even though the rest of my family lives all over the place, we always spend worth while time together.
One of the advantages of having loving people come visit you is that they bring you goodies!! I’d say I made out like a bandit; with my new curling iron (yes, I have natural curls but sometimes they all don’t curl like the rest), tons of snacks, lotion, and the much needed toilet paper.

Thank you Mom and Grandma! I love you!!
Reasons why I love my Dad
I love my Dad because whenever something happened in our house, he would always fix it. It didn’t matter if it was killing the gigantic spider or installing the new sink, my dad could conquer anything. But in the almost two months that I have been at college I have had to do all that “Dad” stuff my self. My latest and grossest adventure was trying to get all of the hair out of the shower drain. And living with two other girls, we have A LOT of hair. I love my Mom too, because she always had gloves for when she cleaned. I usually never wore gloves while cleaning, but I probably would have traded anything to have them in this case.

I used a hanger to pull the hair out. Thanks Mrs. Stoner for the idea!

Chapman 4th Annual 5K
My Dad, Nathan, and I ran the Chapman 5k last Saturday. It was tons of fun and we all ran pretty well. My Dad come in first out of the three of us and Nathan was kind enough to run about 2/3 of the race with me, the slow poke. But I’m hoping to get faster, I have 3 more Chapman 5k’s to run. And in January the three of us will be running a half marathon in Carlsbad, so it’s time to start training! And thanks Mom for being the cheerleader and yelling for us at the finish line!

Happy Birthday Nickie!!
One of my wonderfully amazing roommates turned 18 last Wednesday! Happy Birthday Nickie!! To celebrate her special day, Nickie, her boyfriend Uriel, Amanda, and I went to lunch at Olive Garden, got manicures and pedicures, went to Disneyland so that she could an annual pass (I got one too!), and had a wonderful dinner at her parents house. It was a jam packed afternoon and evening to say the least.

Disney here we COME!!

Starve a Vampire, Donate Blood
Today I donated blood for the first time! The Athletic Training Student Society (ATSS) hosted a blood drive for the American Red Cross. At first, my iron levels were not high enough to donate, but I waited a little while and in the second test I had enough iron in my blood. ATSS collected 66 pints of usable blood and every pint can be used to help three patients, so all in all we helped about 198 people.
My thank you t-shirt for donating.
New Delicious Treats
In Ridgecrest we have Baskin Robins and many other places to get cold treats, but we don’t have any place that specializes in frozen yogurt. Cherry on Top is a wonderful place I have discovered while at Chapman. You get to pick as many flavors of yogurt as you want, and then you load it up toppings. The best part is you get to control how much yogurt and toppings you get. I had cake batter, Belgian chocolate, and peanut butter with smashed twix and oreos on top. The next time I go, I’m going to try the tropical flavors with freshly cut fruit on top.

Thanks Mom and Dad for the gift card!!

College
In just a few short days I will begin the four year trek through college. I’m pretty excited for school to start. The orientation activities over the last few days have really helped me get orientated with the campus and meet many new people. I have two of the greatest roommates ever; Nickie and Amanda. Nickie only lives about twenty minutes away so she is our “home” connection. Amanda and I met through soccer recruit weekends, however we have both decided to not play soccer for our own reasons. I know that college will be challenging, but I’m looking forward to it.

My Dad, Mom, and me minutes before leaving Ridgecrest. We all couldn't believe that all my stuff fit into my Mom's Camry.

Mammoth
In the beginning of August, I was fortunate enough to have the chance to spend 3 days up in Mammoth, CA with Nathan and his family. We all spent the time going on bike rides, day hikes, and doing anything else that was relaxing. It was fun to get away from the heat of Ridgecrest.
The month of June…
June was an action packed month for me. It was the end of my high school career and the beginning of the weird post-high school/pre-college life where you don’t really belong in either category.
June 4th: Last day of high school!!
June 5th: Graduation!!! The weather on graduation is always crazy. It can be freezing cold or extremely hot. For the Class of 2009, it was windy and cold. I wasn’t really excited for graduation, but I was excited to be finally done.
My wonderful and supportive family.
June 6th: Graduation Party. My close friend Josie Olsen and I had a joint party. We basically invited everyone who has ever known our families, coached us in soccer, and taught us in school. The party was tons of fun and we appreciate everyone who came.

Our tasty cake
Here’s some fun facts about Josie and Me:
- We have known eachother since kindergarten. We also made our acting debut in kindergarten while performing “The Three Little Pigs”
- We’ve been playing soccer together for 7+ years
- Our looks are almost perfect opposites: I have dark brown curly hair, hazel eyes, and my skin tans. Josie is blonde, has blue eyes, and is part albino
- And we have had the same soccer shoes three times in a row, the first two were on accident

June 20th: My cousin Rebekah got married!! Most of the Bergens family lives relatively close to one another. UnfortunatelyI have some family that lives in Indiana and New Hampshire and we only get to see these relatives on very special occasions. Rebekah and Josh’s wedding was a beautiful event. I’ve only spent a little time with Josh and Rebekah but it is evident that God is present in their lives and shaping their relationship to His will.

Rebekah and Josh
Even though all of our attention was on Rebekah and Josh, my sister and I couldn’t help being engrossed in our new little cousins Abraham and Samuel. Abraham was seven weeks old and Samuel was six weeks. Both are too cute for their own good!!

First Real Blog Post
So I have a blog, but I’m not very good at the whole posting part. But I will get better. Currently, I have 5 days of high school left, one baccalaureate speech to give, and three finals to study for. The last couple days of school have been really fun for seniors. Last Thursday/Friday my senior class went to Disneyland for Grad Night. I had a blast but was very tired when we got home Friday morning at 10:30.
